Christmas Questionnaire

Long time no blog!  I am not sure how many people actually read this, but I plan on blogging here a bit more this coming year.  I saw this linky up at Michelle's Blog, and I thought it would be fun to take part!
Okay here I go...
Hot Chocolate or Eggnog?
That's a tough one because I like both.  Yes, I actually like Eggnog.  But I would say Hot Chocoloate, sounds more cozy!

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
Only mom wraps gifts.  Santa is too busy to wrap;)

Colored lights or white?
I love white lights.  It's more classic (to me).  But I totally appreciate colored and may one day switch over??

When do you decorate?
Usually Thanksgiving weekend.  But this year it was a week earlier.  I love Christmas!

Real or Fake Tree?
Fake.  For years, and growing up, it was only real trees, but when Alyson and I were on our own, I wanted a fake tree.  The best decision ever!  We love it!

What Tops Your Tree?
A star, and some pretties.  I get a little crazy!

Ignore the mess (and the lack of lights at the top).
Favorite Christmas Memories or Traditions?
Always, always, going to a neigborhood nearby to walk around and see the lights in our warmest and comfiest clothes (Alyson usually in PJ's).

And we have had this guy for the past 5 years.
Always getting in trouble, but oh so much fun!
Do you remember your favorite gift as a child?
Yep!  My Cabbage Patch doll.  Alyson has it now and I am sure it is in her room, but I am too lazy to look for it.
She looked something like this one.
Do prefer giving or receiving?
I would say both!  Who doesn't like getting gifts?  My favorite is being able to give without worrying about the price tag.  The only time that happens is with my girl.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
I have definite favorites, but I always think of Last Christmas by WHAM ad a favorite.  Isn't that cheesey?

Candy Canes. Yuck or Yum?
Love them!  I also like the ones that are fruity!

Favorite Christmas Movie?
Hmmm...I will narrow it down to a few.

And those are at the top of my list, but I could go on.

Do you shop online or at stores?
Amazon Prime and the American Girl Store are my BFF's.

Photo Cards, Letter or Store Bought Card?
Photo Cards!

Yay!  That was fun!  Off to visit some others!

Five for Friday!

Whew!  It's been awhile since I've posted on this little blog.  This year is crazy busy.  Having a combo class keeps me busy!  Here are some of my favorites fromt his week.  And, as always, I am linking up with Doodlebugs Teaching
I started adding my Halloween decor to my classroom.  My kiddos loved it!  They get excited to see what I'm going to put up next.  I Love it!
Alyson has chosen to read this book for her book report this week.  I almost shed a tear, well not really.  But how can you not love Little House?

I finished these two Enrichment packs this past weekend.  Just in time for the new month!  Check them out here and here.

I just got this lipstick from MAC.  It's called Girl About Town.  It's bright, but oh so pretty and creamy!

And this one, that may be random, but it is especially yummy.  I had to attend a training this week and to me, nothing is worse than having to prepare for a sub, when I would much rather be in the class. At least we got this lovely boxed lunch.  Ate it all up!

Thanks for popping in!  Leave a comment so I can go visit your blog too!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Five for Friday!!!

Well I made it through a full week of school!  I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted!  I will be catching up on some sleep this weekend. Today I am linking up with Doodlebugs Teaching.

1. Back to School night happened this week.  It was a success!  And I think what I was most excited for, was my cute little signs. Ha!  If you are interested, I think I will make them a freebie this weekend.  Well except the Ms.Lanning!;)
2.Had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season!  Oh so gooood!
3.Got my apple bracelet from Alex and Ani!  So pretty!

4.New boots came in the mail!  Can't wait for some fall weather!
5. I have to share this success.  I created these journal prompts so that students would get used to responding to a prompt in an informal manner.  I am happy to say, that they are doing great!  I have it put together in a way that on the day after a prompt they have free writing.  It has (so far) avoided my reading the "I love my family, I love my dog" repitition that I see every year.

That's it!!  I am off to enjoy this Friday!!

Five for Friday!

Woohooo!  It's the weekend!  So ready to get to sleep in.  That's what I really miss, and not being able to stay up as late as I'd like.  But, I am proud to say that I have only fallen asleep once on the couch this week. LOL!
So this week, was amazing!  I am so proud of my littles.  I am still trying to figure out the combo thing, but we'll get there.  So here are some things that stood out to me this week.

My little cutie started 4th grade!  Sigh, I remember looking at the fourth graders at my school and thinking they were so big, and old!  And here I am with my own 4th grader!  Amazing how time flies!
I am trying to figure out how I'm going to teach math with my 8 second graders. My first attempt was a lesson on the carpet and then they got to grab a clipboard and complete it.  I also let them lie on their tummy's!  Hey, second grade has it's benefits, right?  They loved it, and it went great!

Morning work is another area that is a bit tricky for me.  I don't want to give my second graders anything that is too easy.  Enter my Sight word color by words pages.  I made a first and second grade version, that way they can both be done at the same time but differentiated for the two grades.  I was very proud of me, LOL!
Click here for the second grade version and here for the first grade version.

And these little iphones!  I love them.  I of course, first saw them on IG from a fellow teacher.  I ran out to Wally's and grabbed some.  I decided to glue their picture on and laminate them.  They will go right next to their work on our writing wall.

And last, but not least.  My Alex and Ani bracelets.  I have hemmed and hawed over which ones to get, and I finally decided on these 3.  Aren't they gorgeous?  I have to admit, I ordered the apple one and it's on its way to me right now!
That's it!  We have soccer ceason starting tomorrow and I am really excited!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Currently...

Hey there!  Seems like I always wait until the last minute to do this little link.  But here it goes...

As you know I am linking up with Farley overe here...

Nothing too exciting except I am trying to stay ahead of the game this year so that I am not always playing catch-up.  My paperwork gets outta control.  And with a combo, I am guessing it will be even more crazy.  Here are a few pics of my cuties...
Okay, well you can't really "see" them, but I am loving my iphone pics of these kiddos.  Waiting to laminate these.

We got so much done already.  Our flags are up and displayed.  First grade on the top and middle, second on the bottom.  I have a lot of kiddos.

We got our nails done.  It felt sooooo good!  I can't wait to go back!  It's been way too long!

I put these together for this week.  The firsties get the yellow, and the secondies get the blue.

Made this today.  I even haf time for a second grade version.  Click the pciture to check it out!

Here's to another successful week!  Hoping it is cooler out here!

Five for Friday

Happy Friday!  This is the first Friday that I actually have things to link with
So here are my 5.

*ONE*
My classroom is almost complete!  I am loving it so far, and on Monday I will dive in to making copies and planning for the First Day.  Kinda nervous about this since I am teaching a 1/2 combo:)

*TWO* I cut my hair this week.  I needed it.  I haven't had my hair this long in, well I was 6!  I have very thick hair, so I had inches trimmed off as well as thinned out.
It feels so much better!  No more headaches when I wear a topknot!

*THREE*This printing practice pack!  I love it and can't wait to use it with my kiddos!

*FOUR*While shopping at Wally's, I found this cute lunch tote.  Kind Vera Bradleyesque!  I love it and can't wait to use it.  The best part?  $6.99.
*FIVE*Sorry this is sideways.  I found these wipe boards in the dollar spot.  The top green were from last year and I didn't use them last year, and I found the mirror ones this year!  They are the perfect boards for my sight word centers.  Right?  Super cute!
That's it!  Yay!  So glad I could link up this week!  Have a great one!
